A good number of LCRC members race in the Irish Veteran Cyclist Association (IVCA) league, and between them had a good season in 2022 with a number of top 6 placings and notable wins for the team, including our C-man’s great finish in Dundalk.

Highlights of the achievements by our ‘Vets’ team included:

In the Spring Classics League (first 6 races of the season), Mike Haynes gained 2^nd place in the White ability group, and Eoin Delany won the Green ability group.

In the Tuesday League, Mark Mearns took 2^nd and Ian O’Hara 5^th in the Black ability group, Jimmy Stagg and Peter McDonagh were 4^th and 5^th respectively in the White ability group, whilst Lar Callaghan capped off a great season by winning the Green ability group.

Other Vets performances worthy of note during the 2022 season included Mike Haynes taking Bronze in the M60 National Championships in Newcastle West.  A fine performance by Mike, on a day when a strong field of Masters Cyclists competed for the honour of a podium finish.
